This Time, the Agenda of the Public Health Days was “Women’s Health”

At the 4th Public Health Days Symposium organized by Hasan Kalyoncu University (HKU), the subject of “Women’s Health” was discussed. In the symposium all aspects of women’s health were discussed; panel and paper presentations took place in the conference.

PROJECTS WHICH ARE ADDING HEALTH TO GAZIANTEP

The events held online via the Zoom video conferencing platform started with a women and health themed photo exhibition and a music concert. The first conference was held after the opening speeches at the 4th Public Health Days, where participation was intense. HKU Rector Prof. Dr. The session was chaired by HKU Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Özge Hacıfazlıoğlu and HKU Health Sciences Faculty Dean Prof. Dr. At the first conference held by Kezban Bayramlar, Gaziantep Metropolitan Municipality Disability and Health Services Department Head Dr. Serdar Tolay spoke about “Cities Through the Eyes of Women”.

Speaking about women’s studies and projects carried out as Gaziantep Metropolitan Municipality, Dr. Serdar Tolay explained, “Genetic Diagnosis Center, Pregnancy School, Obesity Fight Project, field trainings and activities and field studies conducted within the scope of Pandemic. Tolay, who gave detailed information about the projects implemented with official data and practical examples, stated that there are new projects to be realized.

EXPERTS DISCUSSED WOMEN’S HEALTH

In the symposium, which drew attention to the scientific content and current issues and important topics, Professor of the Hacettepe University Institute of Population Studies Dr. A. Sinan Türkyılmaz; “Women from 1993 to Present: Turkey Demographic and Health Survey (DHS)” made a presentation on the subject. Ministry of Health, General Directorate of Public Health, Healthy Nutrition and Active Life Department Head Assoc. Dr. While Nazan Yardım draws attention to “Women’s Health and Nutrition Situation in Gaziantep Province”, Başkent University Woman and Child Health and Family Planning Research and Application Center (BÜKÇAM) Director Prof. Dr. Ayşe Akın, on the other hand, mentioned key points about “Women’s Health and Gender Discrimination”.

Around the participants entertained and at the symposium that resonates with a wide range of topics “Women’s Health Protective Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation, Violence and Life Cycle Against Women Nutrition and Women’s Health” was held three separate panels on the subject.

In the Symposium organized by the HKU Faculty of Health Sciences Department of Nutrition and Dietetics to raise awareness; Oral presentations on “Women’s Studies” were shared with the participants by researchers from the Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation, Nutrition and Dietetics and Nursing departments.

The “4th Public Health Days”, in which current problems related to women’s health and solutions to these problems were discussed, lasted for two days.
